Make everyday phone tasks easier
A new smartphone can make keeping in touch easier, but setup and unfamiliar screens can feel frustrating. Senior.sg is exploring patient smartphone setup and guidance for seniors in Singapore. Tell us the specific task that matters to you or your parent, rather than needing to know the technical name for the problem.
Phone help you can request
- Getting started with a new iPhone or Android phone.
- Making text larger and adjusting volume or accessibility settings.
- Using WhatsApp to send a message or make a video call.
- Finding contacts and practising calls with family.
- Navigating appointment or other everyday apps together.
Practical guidance at the senior’s pace
Start with one goal, such as making a family video call or finding an appointment reminder. Let us know the phone type if you know it, the preferred language and the neighbourhood where help is needed. We discuss the practical arrangements and suitability before confirming a pilot visit. Hardware repairs and device sales are outside the scope.
You stay in control of your device
The senior should enter their own passwords and verification codes. Do not share Singpass credentials, OTPs, banking details or account passwords in the form or WhatsApp message. We do not access banking accounts or make financial transactions. If an app needs authentication, the account holder completes that step themselves.
How much does phone guidance cost?
The pilot has no fixed published rates. Explain the task and whether you want a single setup visit or occasional support, then ask for a quote. We confirm the scope, time and price before any visit. Asking a question does not commit you to a paid session.
Explore community digital learning too
IMDA’s Seniors Go Digital programme supports seniors learning basic digital skills. Community support may suit your needs, especially for ongoing learning. Visit the official programme page for current options. Senior.sg is an independent pilot and is not affiliated with IMDA.
